In the legislature, where there were two Democratic lawmakers who supported raising the minimum wage, it was somewhat simpler to accomplish that. Our efforts to increase the minimum wage in Massachusetts in 2025 are where we got started. We believed that since there would be winners and losers, there ought to be more of a public policy decision-making process.
It didn't seem very democratic that governors were making so many unilateral decisions regarding Medicaid expansion in their states. It would benefit states to expand Medicaid.
